One of my very happy tasks at Chair of the Department of Music is attending the state music teachers convention at the Lake of the Ozarks.
MMEA has been coming to Tan-Tar-A for over two decades now. I first came here in the 1980’s, and started attending the annual event in 1990. My community choir sang on the convention program in 1993; I soloed with the Central Missouri choir that same year. And then last year I came back to Missouri after a ten-year absence.
I arrived today at about 3 p.m. and set up the booth. All the literature goes out tomorrow morning. Tonight I’m in a hotel after having had dinner with my colleague Paul DeMarinis.
