Our colleague Mieko Hironaka Bergt put together a stunning chamber music program on Sunday. She was joined by Saint Louis’ own Arianna String Quartet and our colleague Erik Harris, principal double bass with the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra.
The program included Beethoven’s String Quartet in F Major, op. 135, played by the Arianna String Quartet; and Schubert’s Quintet for piano, violin, viola, collo, and double bass in A major, op. 114, otherwise known as ‘Die Forelle.’
The performance was truly world-class, and the sizeable audience in Moore Auditorium was on fire with excitement when the pieces were over.
I love teaching and administering at a university that provides this kind of enrichment for our students, and this kind of engagement for our community!
