A new year

by Jeffrey Carter

The new school year is nigh.

This evening I had the honor of introducing our new music theory & composition colleague, David, and his husband Jake, to dozens of faculty members, the Provost, and the President, at the annual President’s Banquet.  And then my colleague James Robey spoke about the creative spark.

Already this week, I have fielded untold number of emails, met with individual faculty members, led a six-hour faculty intensive, attended the annual Fall Convocation, kicked off two training sessions, and somehow managed as well to get some other work accomplished.

Tomorrow we see our new-student class for the first time.

And all is right with the world.
